This is the story of my first e.session in another country, it was in Birmingham (UK), but this year I will do more sessions there: Bristol, London, … if you live in England you should send me an email to info@horacioarriaza.es because I want to propose an idea

Elisa and Quini are two friends who live in Birmingham, they are getting married this year, and I have the luck to be in their special day. Long time ago we had the idea of a e.session in Birmingham and the first weekend in March I went there.

The first day everything went wrong, the plane had to depart at 13:30 and it did not leave until 20:00h. Ana told me that I should miss my flight and I should go on another occasion, because if I go at 20:00h to London I would be late, but I said I go to UK. From Seville airport I told Elisa the delay and I said I would try to get to Birmingham that day although it was early morning. That was all, the plane landed at Gatwick and I went running down the train that took me to Victoria Station. I went to Victoria Coach Station to find out what was the next bus that came to Birmingham and I had just one leaving at 00:30h. I took this one and I returned to be late again because there was a little road works! finally I came to Birmingham at 4:00h am, You can not imagine how I was happy when I saw Elisa and Quini waiting there

The weekend was all great, we went to eat at a Chinese, an Italian, walked through the center of Birmingham, I met the famous Bullring, we made a lot of pictures in the streets and squares of the city … and I met many Spanish people living there. On Sunday I went to the Focus On Imaging Show with my Spanish friend who lives in Bristol, Javier Gomez. Focus On Imaging Show is one of the largest photography exhibitions in Europe, and there I could see Jeff Ascough and Damien Lovegrove, they were doing their presentations. I was going to meet a photographer friend of Birmingham that day but could not be, the next time I go I will try to meet Jim.

Esta es la historia de mi primer preboda en otro pais, fué en Birmingham (UK), pero este año haré más sesiones allí: Bristol, Londrés, … si vives en Inglaterra envíame un email a info@horacioarriaza.es porque quiero proponerte una idea

Elisa y Quini son dos grandes amigos que viven en Birmingham, se van a casar este año, y yo tengo la suerte de estar a su lado un día tan especial. Hace tiempo ya tuvimos la idea de hacer un preboda en Birmingham y el primer fin de semana de Marzo me fuí allí.

El primer día todo salió muy mal, el avión tenía prevista la salida para las 13:30 y no salimos hasta las 20:00. Ana me dijo que perdiera el vuelo y fuera en otra ocasión, que saliendo a las 20:00 llegaría a Londrés muy tarde, pero yo le dije que iría. Desde el aeropuerto de Sevilla avisé del retraso a Elisa y le dije que intentaría llegar a Birmingham ese mismo día aunque fuese de madrugada. Así fué todo, el avión aterrizó en Gatwick y me fuí corriendo hacía el tren que me llevaba hasta Victoria Station, sin pensarlo me dirigí hacía Victoria Coach Station y averiguar cual erá el próximo autobus que salía rumbo Birmingham y justo había uno que salía a las 00:30. Tomé ese y volvió a retrasarse un poco por pequeñas obras en la carretera!! al final conseguí llegar a Birmingham a las 4:00 de la madrugada, no os imaginais la alegría que me dió ver a Elisa y Quini esperandome allí

El fin de semana fué todo genial, fuimos a comer a un chino, un italiano, paseamos por el centro de Birmingham, conocí el famoso Bullring, hicimos muchas fotos por las calles y plazas de la ciudad … y conocí a muchos españoles que viven alli. El domingo fuí a Focus On Imaging Show con un amigo cordobés que vive en Bristol, Javier Gómez, una de las ferias de fotografía más grandes de Europa, y alli pude ver a Jeff Ascough y Damien Lovegrove dando sus ponencias. Iba a conocer a un amigo fotografo de Birmingham ese día pero no pudo ser, la próxima vez que vaya intentaré conocer a Jim
